There are two stages to the ESL Pro League Season 16 – the group stage and the playoffs. The group stage will see the teams play each other in a round-robin format. Each team wil play the other five teams in the group once in the group stage.

All matches are best-of-three series and each group takes place over a period of five days. The best team in the group stage advances directly to the quarterfinals. The next two teams move ahead to the round of 12. There is a clear and distinct advantage for any team that tops the group stage.
